Our story
The idea of talkon was born in 2018, when we Leetal Tisman and Hila Bornstein realized that the only way to solve inefficiency of speech therapy and long wait lines, is by digitizing part of the process. When we couldn’t find an answer in existing solutions, we decided to develop one ourselves.
From the very beginning, we were embraced by the Israeli high-tech community: In April 2019, we were chosen from among hundreds of candidates to participate the prestigious XLR8 accelerator led by world renowned venture capitalist and former Israeli MK Erel Margalit, and in collaboration with Israel’s Ministry of Economics and IDF’s 8200 unit. The following year we participated in the exclusive international competition for technology-based ventures, MassChallange 2020, and received the support of Israel’s Innovation Authority.
The addition of Michael Schiller to the founding team in mid 2020, is a further expression of talkon’s commitment to accessible technology innovation. Michael joins the team with his extensive experience in system development and shares our vision that adapting digital tools is a necessary next step for all businesses, also in the more traditional industries. He’s the driving force behind the development of the talkon system and the one who brings our vision to life.
In two years, we spoke to hundreds of SLPs and parents, in Israel and around the world. Using their feedback, we fine tuned the system so that it addresses the entire spectrum of challenges SLPs face during their work, from both the administrative and professional aspects. Throughout the process our main goal was to develop a tool that significantly improves how SLPs work, so that therapy is a shorter and more efficient process, waiting lines are significantly cut and more kids are able to improve their communication skills during the narrow window of opportunity of early childhood.
Today, talkon is becoming recognized as a basic tool for SLP, as hospitals, private practices and thousands of SLPs take part in our revolution.
We invite you to join us!
